We are Queer Hockey Hamilton (QHH)

We are a local queer non-profit hockey organization located in Hamilton, Ontario, established and fully run by queer players.

Our goal:

To foster the passion for hockey in a supportive inclusive environment; embracing all genders, skill levels, and diversity on the ice and in the change room. We are dedicated to creating a welcoming and safe environment for all members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community within hockey. We are inclusive of all genders, sexual orientations, and skill levels and want everyone to  come together for the love of hockey, while being their authentic selves.

Our mission and values:

Revolve around advocating for inclusivity, promoting equality, empowering through sport, igniting the change in hockey, and building lasting relationships - within QHH and beyond.

Promoting 2SLGBTQ+ inclusion in hockey is crucial for breaking down the barriers and working towards removing the toxic culture from sports - on and off the ice. We are striving to be a part of the change in hockey as we move forward. We take pride in keeping our change-rooms and benches completely gender neutral - creating that team bonding experience from the moment we get to the rink.

All sports are greatly important for mental and physical health, and being a part of a team is an experience everyone deserves. Words of encouragement,  motivation and celebration is what you'll hear from us and our members.

QHH was created in 2023, inspired by other queer hockey organizations. After being a part of a few different queer hockey tournaments, we wanted to bring that excitement and inclusion back home.

We strongly encourage all players to join us, whether it's your first time, or you’re a seasoned player.

There is a spot on our bench for everyone!

“Finally feeling like I have a spot on the bench has allowed me to fall madly in love with hockey again”
